In Southeast Asia, the female bird-like deity called Kinnari, is the celestial dancer. I use her as a symbol for celestial sustenance of a new born. This work delves into the visceral intersection of divinity and biology. Through the figure of the Asian avian-goddess, I examine the "primitive magic formula" inherent in the female form—a biological mandate to pass down life that feels both like a gift and a cosmic directive.
The surreal anatomy and the watchful eye symbolize a consciousness beyond our own, fueling the relentless drive of generations. I aim to visualize the unseen pressure of this legacy, where the body becomes a bridge between ancient origins and a persistent future.
