This painting reimagines a classic legend from Journey to the West. In the original myth, the Monkey King creates an army by blowing on his own hair; here, a woman performs a similar, visceral magic.

Pinned to the earth, she pulls a single hair from her scalp to trigger a supernatural birth. Beside her, a monumental, detached womb floats in the air—a "house" belonging not to her, but to a higher power. From its center, a crying infant emerges. This piece explores the woman as a vessel for the divine, where creation is both a magical labor and a borrowed miracle.
